Purple Thistle

This painting of the purple thistle wildflower also has a evening tone to it. I really love the drama it creates. I had been wanting to paint a purple thistle for a long time but knew all the needles would be a challenge. The thistle is another organic still life I like to concentrate on because I think the overlooked insignificant wildflowers have such exquisite beauty and are often unappreciated.
